Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival, also often known as the Tuen Ng or Duanwu Festival,it is a traditional and statutory holiday originating in China.
It occurs on 5th day of the 5th month in each year of chinese traditional lunar calender.it is chinese folk traditional festival.the Dragon Boat Festival has many nicknames.such as: bath orchid festival,daughter of festival,poet Festival etc. Although the name is different, but generally speaking, the customs of the people around the festival is still the same.
It is also a memorial day for commemoration the death of the poet and minister Qu Yuan.The festival was long marked as a cultural festival in China and is a public holiday in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. local people said in this day.people raced out in their boats to save Qu Yuan at least retrieve his body. This is said to have been the origin of dragon boat races.meanwhile,people dropped the ball of sticky rice into the rive.so that the fish couldn't eat his body.this is the original food name of zongzi.this day,all of family eat zongzi,salted duck egg,fried cake etc.
